During my tenure, I worked exclusively in the Identity space, spanning across multiple Profile products such as Personal Profile, Additional Profile, Professional Mode, Pages (New Page experiences), Profile Switcher, Avatars on Profile, and Community Profile (0-1 effort). The team is uniquely situated as part of the horizontal foundation team to work both vertically and horizontally across the app to enable top company initiatives.

Facebook Profile

Facebook as a social platform is looking to reinvigorate its user base and serve people's changing behaviors and needs. One of the pivotal products that will power this transformation is the Profile, as the second highest visited surface on the app (first being the home tab). Facebook Profile is a horizontal platform product that enables multiple cohorts (individuals, creators, businesses) of profile products such as Professional Mode, Additional Profile, and New Page Experience. My team was in charge of creating the vision and strategy to evolve the existing profile toward a modern and content-first (effort to improve offerings for Creators) profile system that works across cohorts. I led the framing of the vision with three core design tenets: 1) Cohesion; 2) Dynamism; 3) Freshness. The work was well received and gained approval by executive leadership team as the team is working through execution and to fine tune final shippable variants.

Avatars

Building the Metaverse was one of Meta's company-wide priorities. However, adoption of the Metaverse is a long-term effort which has many dependencies. Avatars were a key pillar of the Metaverse growth strategy to introduce people to the Metaverse. My team was responsible for the +60% of acquired Avatar users for the Metaverse team across the Family of Apps. As the growth goals got more aggressive, there were growing concerns from leadership of subpar experiences. I led the team on a new strategy to shift from pure growth to creating better synergies between growing the Metaverse and Facebook app goals. This resulted in a vision and strategy of Avatars on Facebook that is well aligned with Facebook's strengths and the Avatars offering.
